We work alongside social services by offering to train their staff in brief advice or offer them the chance to become intermediate Stop Smoking Advisors.

We also take referrals from social services for any Newcastle residents who want to start their stop smoking journey.

Social services do not currently provide stop smoking support, however they do make referrals into the Newcastle Stop Smoking+Service. If you want to talk to a social worker about your quit journey, or your desire to quit smoking, they will be able to direct you to the right service.

If you’re working in Social Services and would like to be better informed about smoking cessation and referral pathways, you can attend one of our Free Training Sessions. These have been designed for people who may come into contact with smokers who want to quit, but do not know the best approach to take.

Lengths of these sessions vary between 30 minutes to an hour and can take place in your workplace.
